Rain.. Rain.. Go Away.....

Looks like we are having a repeat of last summer when the long sunny days gave way to the 'monsoon' type weather we got for most of July and August 2009....today it has rained non-stop... seemingly the hottest, driest weather for this summer was the 20th to the 27th of June... the exact days we were out of the country!!

At first I thought 'Great...those vegetables in the garden need a good dousing'!! Well, Ginny, if  you are reading and wondering about 'Irish' potatoes being grown in 'tubs' and 'baskets' think they are waterlogged here and may not come to anything...We shall see!  Methinks the potatoes will rot this year:(

Anyway I will remain hopeful that this coming week will be a little better...Myself and the two small ones are off to Donegal for our annual week in Gaoth Dobhair Gaeltacht where we will 'speak the lingo' and meet with friends and in general have a good time..rain or no rain..
I am hoping to do a long walk every day on the beach... as still need to work off the excesses of the cruise and all the 'socialising' since!!!  Darrelle is opting out this year to stay with her Dad..There comes a time!!!!

So, just to remind myself that the weather was good not so long ago.... the last few days of June were sunny, bright and full of fun for little ones who had 'Sports Day' and 'visit your New School Day'... Off course it wasn't called that but Alex spent some time in his new classroom /school the day of Elena's Sport's Day.. Hope he does not think there will be a bouncy castle in the school yard every day when he starts for real in September!!
Elena lining up for the 'sack race'
On your marks...
Get Set.....Go..
Meanwhile two small tigers boys were gearing up to meet their new teacher...Darrelle and her friend Sorcha had cycled in to help out with 'face-painting'so these two guys were quick  to volunteer..
Alex and his friend...

Happy boy!
Have a good week!

Hi there. Hope the weather picks up for you guys. When the sun shines there is no where better in the world! Our friends Eileen and Jim just came back from 2.5 weeks home, they were in Kilkenny, Dublin and Clare area. Said the weather was just great.

Can make all the difference.

Take care and enjoy your summer lovey.

We are off to Washington DC and North Carolina for the first two weeks in August. We have booked a beach house in Wrightville Beach for a week. One of the families we met in Kaz live there and we are looking forward to spending lots of time with them and their gorgeous little Kazman Serik.

Cheerio

Bummer to hear about your rain. We are burning up here on the east coast of the USA. Lucky thing we escaped to the beach for a couple of days.
My pots did not survive the heat wave I'm afraid so we may be in the same boat with our planters.
Your kids look busy and happy.
