Last day... Heading Home!!

Early this morning the ship docked in Barcelona and before long people began to disembark.....originally when we were booking our holiday we contemplated spending a few days in Barcelona at the end of our trip but Declan always has a problem getting time off at this time of the year.. the joys of working in the tourist industry!!! As of next week he will be back working 6 days a week for the two months of summer.:(

We therefore decided, as our flight was not leaving Barcelona until 20 to 11 that night to spend a long day sightseeing in the city... However, having had a glimpse into what that might entail during the week and adding a lot of heavy bags and as it happened soaring temperatures of 31 degrees Celius we decided to opt for Plan B...Late Departure!!!

So we got to stay on the ship until 4pm... at a price of course.!!! This meant we did not have to vacate our room until 9am and we were able to check in our bags until we were disembarking...
Darrelle delighted that we get to stay a bit longer......

This was probably the first day we really got a chance to hang out by the pools on deck....Everyday has been so busy with sightseeing etc that it was nice to be able to chill... and of course it was lovely and quiet!!  The kids had a ball...

Hey.. we got to be part of the 'Welcome Aboard' Party again!!!!.. Wouldn't we love to be staying on for another week??!!

Nice ice structure....and display... who does this stuff?  Do they do a degree in ice-sculpting or what??

Something else we never got to do..... I was going to give this a shot with Darrelle.. although she was a bit reluctant... am sure I would not have got too far..... that parachute jump ruined me when it comes to heights but was willing to give it a go...

We finally said goodbye to the ship and headed for the airport... a lot of waiting but overall it ws a good decision to spend all that extra time on the boat.... Here is Elena passing time in the airport in Barcelona...

Having come full circle... back home in the 'Emerald Isle!!!  It's been great..... can't wait for the next one....
