When we went on yet another excursion last week to visit Máire, another Alex & Millie we did not know that Elena was going to talk Alex into having a go on Millie's Barbie bike .. and sure enough our fearless little warrior was game ball to 'give it a go...'.. It may have been pink but it was the perfect size for him as he could reach the ground and was not afraid to fall...and he pretty much got the hang of it straight away .. so much so that Millie had to chase him to get her bike back..!!!
Your turn Millie!
When we got home Alex sought out the pink bike which he had inherited from Darrelle/Elena and which we had not bothered to put stabilisers on.....
So most of the time we saw a very proud little boy, oblivious to the colour of his helmet and bike and his only problem was 'How to start & How to Stop'...So we had a bit of this......
... and a bit of this.....
...and some of this....
...but apart from a bit of yelling he just picked himself up, found out that cycling towards the wall or up on the grass was a good way to stop while there was always someone to give him a push off!!!!!
Jacko now knows that it is not ok to make a run for Alex when he sees him cycling and his small master once again has the upper hand....!!!

Adrienne, good story. Alex is a good young fella. I hear you're bringing my gang up to Ath Cliath amárach or inniu by the time you read this. Thanks for the help be sure to shake a drop of holy water on Michelle leaving, she'll have her hands full on the plane. All grand here. Looking forward to having my crowd back. All in all I think they had a great time and it's great for them to get to spend time back home.
Will chat soon. Hello to Dec and all your gang.
Slan, Alf.
That most wonderful moment when one first manages to stay balanced by her/himself on a foot-propelled BICYCLE. I remember it as if 'twas yesterday on the main street in KNOCKCROGHERY.
