Onwards & Upwards to 2011

Is it too late for 'Happy New Year' greetings or is it ok as long as it is still the month of January?! What brings me to the computer tonight is that I am loath to let the whole month of January go by without  some hint that we are still in the land of the living.... it seems that the weeks are just running into each other  and the month has gone quicly by... No sooner is it Monday than it is Friday and if you blink on a Friday it is already Sunday night and we are getting ready to start the week all over again...

So, time to write is precious and hard to come by... God, I really do miss the job-sharing days of the last 3 years...

My other excuse is that the computer has been to the 'bring it back to life' hospital and for a while it has been going so slow that it was almost going backwards and I was having visions of it packing it in totally and me losing everything.....  So for now it has a new lease of life and I hope to keep it that way...

Hard to believe that tomorrow is the first day of spring and that the next few weeks will herald in the first signs of the new season.... well that's what I am hoping for anyway.... It has been a long COLD winter....as the following pictures show...
It looks like our mild winters are becoming a thing of the past.. and that we are going to have to get used to long stretches of icy roads, sub-zero temperatures, frozen pipes, NO water, and unwelcome visitors (No, I do not mean Santa - but will leave that for another post!!)
Our lake once again froze over...as you can see from the bucket resting on the surface.....
It may be cold but it is picturesque......

So tomorrow is the first day of spring and all our lessons plans tomorrow at school will revolve around 'Lá le Bríde~ our Irish saint second in command to St. Patrick so that will take care of history, religion, english, art, music and as we sing 'We sing a song to Brigid.. Brigid brings the spring; Awakens all the fields and the flowers; and calls the birds to sing;' here's hoping .. that she does ...bring the spring....

Ok - it's a start......not too exciting but...it's a start..!!

Hey, glad to see you posting again. I was getting worried about you. This winter has been bad here as well with winter storm. Now we are in the midst of a huge ice storm - yuck! I want spring - maybe I'll have to sing your song.

Hey, you're alive...I almost forgot to check my frequent blogs.....my normal rundown at night before I close off the PC. I totally understand, thou....life just keeps going a thousand miles a minute. Wish we could slow it down. The pictures are breathless....just beautiful. Exactly what you would expect from a lovely Irish snowy road. Enjoy the scene at least....we too have been very cold....lows hitting the low 20's. We are now warm, - about 78 degrees, but another cold front is on it's way. No snow, thou... don't think the palms would survive. XoXo
