In our house this Easter break we have to toilet train the toddler, entertain the 6 year old and stop the teenager from getting bored from been stuck with only a toddler and a 6 year old for company.....
So after two days of holidays Darrelle was 'bored'.... The solution was to invite over some of her friends.... In fairness this is important as there are not many her age living close by and I know she feels a little isolated at times as all the other kids are from age 7 down....
Early teens are really no problem... will reserve judgement on older teens for later but right now they entertain each other and all you have to do is keep them fed.... They almost all were able to stay overnight and spent hours upstairs in the bedroom and bathroom with a hair straightener and eyelash curlers.... When I came back from town with pizza those who had arrived with curly hair now had straight hair and those with straight hair normally now sported curls!!
Whereas Alex had gone to bed at 7pm these girls were still chatting and giggling at 7am the following morning...And while we got up to face a new day they were settling down to get some sleep....
Would I like to be 13 again??? Nah!

Hi there. Nice to catch up on your BLOG and see how things are going. Darrelle and her friends remind me of my nieces in Ashbourne at home. Everytime I talk to them there is sleep overs going on, or birthday parties to go to.......ah youth!!
So how is potty training going with Alex? Hopefully well. I loved when we finished with Orin - at least now going out anywhere there is no baby bag needed!!
I fly home in just over 2 weeks - can not believe it. Time has flown. My mother in law is not well in Galway so there may be more trips later in the year.
